be withdrawn from Hongthong Control, but the Establishment at Shanghoe of

independent Post office, communicating direct with the London and all intermediate

offices,

is an

arrangement which must-

be sought for from the Post Master General

which

in Londow and not from this Government.

The only practical questions left at present for the decision of the Shanghao Community are (1) whether

they wish for a branch of the Horything

Post Office

or (2) whether they would

to be without a Post Office at all-

making such arran

rangements as they

pleased for receiving their letters from, forwarding their letters to, the_

Hongkong Office.

The latter alternative is the

would be most advantageous and agreeable
